Atlanta is starting vault training

Pole Vault Atlanta (PV-ATL) will begin our Fall I training sessions for pole vaulters of all levels. Our first session for Fall I will be: Saturday, Sept. 10, 10:00am, at The Atlanta Girls’ School.

We have expanded our training days and times for Fall, 2011. We now offer three (3) training groups for our Fall I sessions to accomodate the large numbers of jumpers. This will ensure more “pit/runway” time for all interested jumpers. Please see the schedule page of our website: www.pvatl.com, for details.

We train year-around, we have two pits and runways, and 80+ poles in our inventory. Fall weather is always beautiful and now is the time to train, improve your technique, or learn this great event, even for the first time ( …we specialize in beginners, so come on out and try…!). If you would like to get in some extra Fall PV training, please see our website for our training schedule and more information: http://www.pvatl.com.

Coaches are always welcome to attend our training sessions at no charge!

How do you compare? British girl breaks records in pole vault

HAVERING Mayesbrook’s Mercy Gutteridge broke the club’s under-15 pole vault record, and bettered the under-17 and 20 marks, as the Eastern Young Athletes placed second in the league trophy final behind hosts Chelmsford on Sunday.
Gutteridge’s winning vault clearance of 2.56m (8-4) added six centimetres to the under-15 girls’ record of 2.50m she had cleared several times since May.
But it also took her past Angela James’ under-17 and under-20 records of 2.55m.
She also scored points in the 300m and long jump. Her vault victory was one of six which contributed to the under-15 girls’ team placing second.
