–India– M.K. Sinju Prakash (Palakkad) with a new meet record in the girls’ under-18 pole vault provided a flourish to the second day’s show of the 55th State junior athletics meet at the Maharaja’s College stadium here on Saturday.
The plus-two student was in such great form that she went from strength to strength and improved upon the existing meet mark by a solid 20 centimetres, despite being left with absolutely little competition.
Sinju Prakash had first time clearances in all heights between 2.70m and 3.30m before settling for her day’s best attempt of 3.35m, which came off the third trial.
