Following a series of inspired performances earlier in the indoor season, Welsh pole vaulter Sally Peake (coach: Scott Simpson) set another Welsh Record as she flew past a bar set at 4.42m last night in Nevers, France.
Peake will have surely reason to be happy about her result: the measure is 2 cm past the Olympic “B” standard. The young Welsh girl also attempted three leaps at the 4.52m “A” standard and, despite not clearing the height, she as very close in the attempt.
Coach Simpson was delighted by the performance, and stated there are “very good things to come” for Peake as the outdoor season approaches
