Welcome to the 33rdSun Angel Classic. The below information pertains to the high school sections of the Sun Angel Classic. High school sections will be conducted on Thursday, April 5, and Saturday, April 7, at ASU’s Sun Angel Stadium on the ASU Tempe campus. Dual competition zones will run simultaneously for the shot put, long jump, triple jump, high jump, and pole vault. Starting blocks and shot puts will be provided at the facility.Coaching boxes will be designated at key points and reserved for coaches with athletes competing in ongoing field events.Please adhere to NFHS policy regarding uniforms. Uniform checks will be conducted at check-in within the staging/warm-up or at field event competition area prior to the start of each event. Sun Angel Classic awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each event. A ‘Sun Angel Classic Champion’ t-shirt will be provided to event winners.
EVENT TIMELINE – THURSDAY, APRIL 7, 2010
9:00am – Packet pick-up opens
9:30am – Facility opens
9:45am – Coaches hospitality (coffee and pastries)
9:50am – Infield cleared for field events; track remains open for warm-up
10:00am – Field events begin
11:30am – Implement weigh-in closes
12:00pm – Coaching hospitality (sandwiches and refreshments)
12:15pm – Track gates locked; track cleared for competition
12:20pm – National anthem
12:30pm – Running events begin
PARKING
Lot 59 (large lot in front of Sun Angel Stadium and ASU’s baseball stadium) will be for spectators only. Busses may drop off teams in Lot 59. Bus parking and overflow parking will be available in Lot 59 North, located along the north side of Rio Salado Dr. Handicap/special needs parking will be available in the small lot adjacent Sun Angel Stadium in front of Whiteman Tennis Center.
