Lake George, NY –Pole vaulting enthusiasts will have their passions realized at the first-ever pole vault competition hosted in Lake George this July. Adirondack Aerial Assault will take place on July 23rd along Shepard Park Beach; the competition, which is sanctioned by USA Track & Field, is an all-day event co-designed and organized by coaches Dennis Hogan and Don Paretta, and offers music, competitions by division, and prizes.Historically, pole vaulting began as a practical means of clearing the walls of enemies or narrow canyons. As it evolved into an Olympic sport, vaulters shifted from warriors to athletes, demonstrating the same strength and agility, but for competition. Hogan and Paretta aim to attract a diverse group of competitors to the Adirondack Aerial Assault Beach Vault by including both male and female divisions of high school, open, and elite classes.   more
